Why are they bad defenses?

• These examples defenses are bad because:

  • They are mostly irrelevant to the issues at hand
  • They don't actually work against the threat
  • They oppress the rest of us (most don't see it yet)
  • They create precedent for elimination of rights
  • They give powers to those who have historically abused them (as a class)
  • They are designed for the robber barons to use against the general population
  • They are designed to reduce freedoms as much as possible under color of 'security'
