The notion of the “perfect” or even “strong” defense is fatally flawed for several reasons:
- It costs too much to do defense really well
- It takes too high a quality of defender for the available human resources of today
- There is a great deal to protect against
- Humans are a major imperfection in defenses
- Today we only have sets of tools - not a comprehensive unified protective mechanism
- These things have been true for 5,000+ years
