Mounting and using images
Disk images can often be mounted as file systems under Linux
- This allows file-by-file search of the content
- Linux write-protects these images while mounted through ForensiX
- Checksums verify that images are not altered
- Select “Mount” “Mac” for a MacIntosh file system image (other selections are used for other formats)
- Select “Mount” “Disk image” and select the image of interest from the menu
- Press “Go”
