When you first get your White Glove CD, the best way to learn how to use it is to try it. Here is the easy way to start:
Put the CD in your CD drive. If you are running Windows, the manual should appear in your Web browser soon after you put the CD in the drive. You can read the detailed instructions from there and you can review other information on how to use the CD. Press the "Tutorial" button at the upper right corner of your screen, and maximize your browser window for best viewing.
Reboot your computer. If your computer is configured for CD-based bootup it will come up in White Glove. Otherwise you will have to change your BIOS settings by following the more detailed instructions on the CD itself. If the computer comes part way up then fails, try selecting the 'p' option when the prompt menu comes up for a few seconds near the start of the bootup process.
Log in as root. Then the coputer prompts for login, type 'root' followed by pressing the [ENTER] key. IF you don't seem to have a 'login' prompt but the computer did all sorts of things and looks like it may be working, try to press the [ENTER] key and see if you get a login prompt.
Start X11. Once you are logged in as root, type 'startx' followed by the [ENTER] key. In the open area of the window, click on the right mouse key to get a menu, the left mouse key to select from it. If you bring up the Web browser under the User submenu, you will be placed in a users manual similar to the one you get when you use the CD in Windows.
Enjoy! You are up and running.
