Urgent Message

Express solidarity with the Palestinian People
Towards breaking the siege and securing international protection

The Zionist unity government headed by Sharon in Israel has undertaken a
series of new measures, in what is called the plan to tighten the siege
on the Palestinian people. This government erected 90 new military
checkpoints to separate between the PNA regions; they dug hundreds of
deep trenches that isolate the major cities, such as Jerusalem,
Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin, Tulkarem, Bethlehem, Gaza, Rafah, Khan Yunis
and other areas, from the rural areas and villages in their areas. The
cities were transformed into big locked solitary prisons and harmed
every single family, house, and Palestinian human being.

This internal unprecedented tight siege came following the external
siege that was imposed by the previous Barak's government which
separated the West Bank and Gaza Strip from the outside world and
separated the West Bank from Gaza Strip and separated the north of the
West Bank from its southern part.

The current plan of Sharon stipulates dividing the West Bank and Gaza
Strip into squares with an area for each square ranging between 3kms to
5kms and granting full jurisdiction to military officers, along with the
possibility of executing the so called hot pursuit inside Palestinian
residential concentrations, including the Zone "A" areas under the PNA
under the pretext of tracking down Palestinian youths who participate in
the Intifada and in order to execute assassinations and control vital
areas.

This policy led to the disconnection of Palestinian areas at all levels;
residents could not move from one area to another; food supplies and
basic food items cannot reach people; laborers cannot reach their
workplaces; students cannot reach their universities and educational
institutions. Sick people are doomed to die because they cannot reach
hospitals to receive medical treatment. Doctors and nurses are banned
from movement from one region to another.

Under such very difficult conditions, it becomes impossible to meet the
basic needs of citizens unless it is required to construct one hospital,
institution, university, water reservoir, electricity generator, etc..
in each Palestinian village, which is an impossible matter.

Besides , the Palestinian people lost more than 400 martyers and about
10 thousands injured during the past six months, since the beginning of
the Intifada.

The government of Sharon tries to impose a new reality on the
Palestinian people through which it can use food and medicine in its war
against the Intifada. This is a further proof that it has no acceptable
political offer to present towards easing the escalating tension;
moreover, this government's period is not expected to witness any
substantial political agreements.

In resorting to such a method, the government of Sharon is preparing for
the establishment of an occupation apartheid system, which is the worst
that has been witnessed by humanity in modern history. The General
Secretary of the South African Communist Party, who made a recent visit
to the Palestinian lands, described it as even worse than the Apartheid
system that existed in South Africa.

The Palestinian people struggle for their right in self-determination
and the establishment of their independent state next to the state of
Israel; the Palestinian people are struggling for solving the refugees'
issue according to UN resolutions. This criminal siege will not force
the Palestinian people to yield in their national rights in return for
improving their life conditions; therefore, the current tensed
conditions will witness more escalation in the coming period.

We call upon you to visit the Palestinian territories in order to see
the Apartheid system that is being imposed by the Israeli military
occupation.

We demand the international community and all its democratic and
progressive forces and the peace loving forces all over the world to
express their solidarity with the Palestinian people towards the
immediate lifting of the siege and not to allow the government of Sharon
to implement its plans without getting the proper punishment for
violating basic human rights.

We call upon the world countries and their governments, especially the
European countries, to deal with the government of Sharon in the same
way that they dealt with Yorgin Heider, the extremist right-wing figure
in Austria, who was forced to withdraw because of the boycott imposed on
the Austrian government when he joined it.

The government of Sharon includes figures worse than Heider, such as
minister Rahbaam Zeevy who calls for solving the Palestinian cause
through transfer and minister Liberman who called for shelling the Aswan
Dam in Egypt and for occupying the PNA regions, and minister Landau who
calls for dealing with Arabs in the language of force only, in addition
to the PM of this government, Sharon who was condemned by the Israeli
Kahana Inquiry Commission in 1983 for his responsibility in the
massacres of Sabra and Shatella in Lebanon.

We call upon you to act quickly in order to organize campaigns inside
your countries and at the international level to isolate the government
of Sharon and force it to retreat from its schemes and stop its
aggressions against the Palestinian people.

We expect to see all democratic forces express solidarity with our
struggle because the occupation, killings, and siege by Sharon's
government violates with the simplest democratic principles and the
human rights charters.

Through your solidarity, you can contribute in preventing more crimes
and massacres against an unarmed people who are struggling for their
right in life just like all other peoples in the world.

Urgent demands of the Palestinians
International protection and breaking the siege

The "Unified Zionist" government of Sharon inaugurated its rule in
tightening the criminal siege on the Palestinian major cities and
isolated them with military barriers, tanks and deep trenches from the
surrounding within the so-called "hundred days" plan that aim to divide
the Palestinian regions into "squares" and transfer Palestinian cities
into solitary and big prisons.

This criminal plan is considered more barbaric than "Sharon's first
plan" that he used in the early seventies when he confronted the
escalation of Palestinian resistance in Gaza Strip; his plan then failed
and led to popular and international anti-campaigns and a wide
condemnation campaign.

The result of the current plan wont be better than the past plans in
terms of killings and oppression; Sharon policies will break in front of
the Palestinian masses and their Intifada, which will defeat the Israeli
government and the slaughterer of the Sabra and Shatella massacre; it
will defeat the person who desecrated our holy site and whose hands are
stained with blood of our martyrs and injured.

The atrocity of this Zionist assault and aggression at all levels is a
proof on the level of crisis inside the governing body in Israel; they
are trying desperate attempts to break the Intifada in which children,
women and old people are participating; this Intifada is the struggle of
our masses who are determined to achieve their national and legitimate
goals regardless of the cost and sacrifices.

We are confident that the Palestinian people who are engaged in this
struggle will defeat the so-called Zionist unity government under
Sharon; this government which will collapse like all the previous
governments which believed that they could continue in their occupation
schemes and in denying the international legitimacy resolutions without
confronting a total mass struggle; in fact, the resistance of these
people confused them.

We urge our masses to reinforce their unity and organize massive marches
towards the checkpoints and trenches to break the siege.

We call upon the Arab countries to raise their voice high at all arenas
against this oppressive siege imposed on our people and to move quickly
to implement the resolutions of the emergency Arab summit and show real
solidarity with our people and honor their commitments in reinforcing
the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and to work towards the
provision of international protection to the Palestinian people.

We call upon the various international institutions, mainly the UN and
the UN Security Council to move fast and take a quick decision to
provide international protection to our people and frustrate the schemes
and siege imposed on our people.

Long live the courageous Intifada
Long live our national unity
Glory and eternity to our martyrs

The Palestinian People’s Party
