I beg to differ from your generic statement on the coherence of coalition.
As you may already be aware that in a war-like situation (information or
conventional) all the parties do unite together and form a common front
against a COMMON enemy. Such is the case with all nations and not
particularly the Jewish nation.
The proverb quoted by you may be true, however I have found that Jewish
nation is the most coherent nation in the world. They stand united against
any enemy, however using history as any yard stick (and speaking objectively
totally ofcourse) it is seldom seen to have the Jewish nation stand on their
own feet. They need the cover of some superior force military (primarily)
that can provide them an environment for growth and prosperity.
Jewish nation has never been a primary force to be reckoned with in any time
for the sole reason of their intense involvement in the economic and
literary (very broad sense) activities. And as we all know, the economic
activity dies out in a tumultuous environment.
Well these are just my thoughts, any anyone is welcome to
comment/differ/dissent with them

Anyone who knows many Jewish people is probably familiar with the old
saying: "2 Jews, 3 opinions". I reduced this to "1 Jew, 2 opinions".
The notion of a "Unified Zionist" government is an oxymoron
(inconsistent with itself). How many parties are in these coalitions? I
think it takes 5 or 6 parties just to get to 50% of the Knesett and form
a government. The only thing that can ever unite Israel is military or
terrorist action against them.
