I concur - I was not dismissive of discussion, rather I feel Fred's posts
are an effort to do just that. As such, I found what I felt was criticism
of his posts to be a little "over the top" intellectually. I would challenge
anyone who feels they know definitively whether something is "newsworthy" or
not for discussion here, barring the obvious right of the moderator to
restrict something.

I would encourage you Vernon (and others) to post your thoughts on anything.
It has been intellectual debate that has driven IW for years anyway.

'nuff said.

James

P.S. Nice web site, Vernon. ;)

I too was a little curious as to Fred's posting.

Although it was only on a small scale such a method
is an element of IW. Whilst not on a large scale as per
Markus' remark it does help raise issues, as per Fred's
reply. Indeed IW requires us to look at the "big picture"
and not be narrow-minded, as per Marc's post.

I find myself disagreeing with James - surely this group
is all about discussion, opinions included. I know
myself, and I'm sure quite a few others, are a little
hesitant at posting opinions but it certainly provides
a chance to learn and understand.

Discussion should be encouraged allowing those with
experience and knowledge to share that with others!
