I have been very busy keeping up to date on the changing events, but I
wanted to take a moment to note and comment on some of the things I have
seen in the last day.

I have seen:

A pickup truck flying two very large American flags driving
	around and around the streets.

		- For me this sort of display is not how I go about
things - but it is interesting to observe - and something
I have not seen for some time.

	People wearing yellow ribbons
		- presumably in solidarity with those in mourning
		- or perhaps because of lost loved ones.

Parking lots far less full than usual.
		- business seems to be way down
		- the lack of air transport will soon cause major problems

Most traffic going slower and being more polite than normal -
but some cars being extremely aggressive compared to normal.
		- Many people seem in shock and they react differently

Gas stations out of gas - but prices remaining the same
		- which is to say that some people panicked.
while the state required no increas in gas prices

Many more people expressing "God Bless America"
		- It is a sign of more than solidarity - something of
a plea for help and expression of sorrow.

And I caught myself...

In going to lunch yesterday, I noticed two middle eastern men lingering
in front of a Chinese restaraunt, and I caught myself contemplating the
potential that they meant someone harm... for about a half a second...
and then I exchanged a polite hello with them.

I generally am cautious about lingerers and contemplate such things, but
I also recognize that at some level I reacted to their skins as well as
their behavior with some momentary trepedation. Nobody is immune to
this sort of thing, but how we choose to react is what will ultimately
determine our future and out fate.
