The firms in those buildings consisted of Government Agencies, Financial Institutions, Brokerages, Law Firms, and other businesses whose systems would contain extremely sensitive data. The systems from these buildings will be getting hauled off in the trucks to the landfill where they will become easy prey to crooks, hackers, and other nefarious individuals. Granted, many of the systems "may" be totally destroyed and the data irretrievably gone.... but there will be many that data can be scrubbed back from. Somehow efforts should be made to ensure that any computers taken from the site be immediately buried deep to thwart the bad guys from getting them.
