A Jordanian, resident in London, by the name of Abu Baseer, has been channeling funds to the bin Laden group, Jund Al Islam in Iraqi Kurdistan. According to these sources, the most recent sum was $150,000 was transferred to the terrorist group from Abu Baseer in London on direct instruction from Usama bin Laden. Two other cohorts have been sighted in the money laundering network: An Egyptian by the name of Abdul Kader Abdul Aziz, resident in Peshawar, Pakistan and a Syrian, whose name has not been disclosed ,are key characters in the money trail from bin Laden. Kurdistan Democratic Alliance Condemns Ladenite Atrocities A statement from the Kurdistan Democratic Alliance deplored the criminal acts perpetrated by the bin Laden group Jund Al Islam in Halabja and the surrounding areas. The Alliance represents a coalition of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, the Kurdistan Toilers Party, the Kurdistan Social Democratic Party and the Kurdistan Conservative Party. The statement urged all Kurdistan forces to unite and combat the threat of terrorism from the alien group, which wants to create violence and anarchy in order to enforce by its sterile and destructive theology. Its criminal conduct creates instability and if not checked will impoverish the region and halt development progress. The Alliance declared that the bin Laden group has desecrated places of worship, has attempted to close by force the Khans and Takia (religious and social houses) belonging to the ancient and venerable Naqshabandi Tarika (Path). The Alliance added that it is convinced that these terrorist acts are instigated by certain foreign intelligence services in order to stop the Kurdistan liberation's progress toward better living conditions, freedom and democracy. The statement reaffirmed the need to fully support the rule of law, respect for citizens' rights and upholding the legitimate authority of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
