Last week, Barton Gellman did an article titled "Cyber-Attacks by Al Qaeda Feared" <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A50765-2002Jun26.html">http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A50765-2002Jun26.html> This is the response to that article by The Terrorism Research Center. Worth the read. Terrorism Research Center Urges Seriousness of Cyber attacks Failing to Adapt to Emerging Threats Could Have Dire Consequences Washington, D.C., June 27, 2002 - The Terrorism Research Center (TRC) today released an analysis report in response to Mr. Barton Gellman's front page article in today's Washington Post. Mr. Gellman's article highlighted several key pieces of evidence that support the notion that terrorists are looking to acquire a cyberterrorism capability. The issue of cyberattack as a terrorist methods is one the TRC has been studying intensely for over 10 years. The TRC continues to hammer home the point that the ability to identify and adapt to emerging threats is a critical component of the U.S. homeland security strategy.
