I would like to think that the media's irresponsible thrust toward the
sensational is all the explanation that is needed.

But if the collective actions of corporate mismanagers have cost the US
economy many times more loss than the efforts of Al Qaeda, would it not
generate a great deal of sensationalistic attention to elevate these
mismanagers to the level of "state enemies". Calls for charging them with
sedition? Willful economic sabotage in wartime? Wartime profiteering?

Why do we hear instead "mistakes, bad judgement, and misdeeds". That does
not sound very "sensational" to me.

How does the media "miss the boat" on this one?

Al Qaeda & Ilk:
Cost to US, many billions of dollars.
     Characterization: "The Evil Ones"

MalManagement, Inc:
Cost to US, many billions of dollars.
     Characterization: "A Few Bad Apples"

Is this simply "mis-media", or outright collusion?
