About K4Online Meetings

Keiretsu Forum's Pebble Beach chapter sponsors online meetings 6 times per year to bring the "Best of Keiretsu" to Keiretsu Forum members and guests via the Internet. Welcome to K4Online.

K4Online member benefits include

  • No matter where you are, you can attend. On vacation, on travel, out of town, you name it, you can be here.

  • Paperwork is all online, so it's better for the environment and faster to get to and use.

  • Even if you miss the live session, recordings of pitches and related detailed paperwork are still there, so you have ongoing access to still-open rounds and opportunities.

  • If you are from another chapter you can ALSO get K4Online deal flow and access for an added fee through your chapter president.

  • If you are from somewhere where there is no chapter, you can still be a member. Of course you might want to travel to Pebble Beach for our quarterly in-person meetings... Check with your tax advisor to see if the trip is deductible.

K4Online presenting companies are either

  • Portfolio companies from around the world that presented at other chapters, are in the middle of a funding round, and have completed up-to-date due diligence reports.

  • K4Online deal flow companies that are pre-Due Diligence.

Costs for K4Online meetings and memberships

  • K4Online meetings are free to Chapter Presidents, guests, paid K4Online sponsors, and Pebble Beach chapter members.

  • K4Online deal flow companies pay an administrative fee.

How K4Online meetings operate

Online meetings are similar to regular meetings. Unique to Online meetings are the following:

  • Side conversations and personal meetings between members and attendees are limited to text messages. Only current speakers have an open microphone.

  • Presentations are pre-recorded and played in real-time, with the participating company available online for real-time questions and answers after their presentation.

  • Recorded presentations, application forms, due diligence reports, and other provided material are available to Online members and will remain so for 4 months or after the round closes, whichever comes first.

  • Presenting portfolio companies are typically in the middle of funding rounds, so investment availability is time-limited. Pebble Beach deal flow can be pre due-diligence and remains available while active or for 4 months.

Some key things to know and remember

  • Angel investment is high risk, often in non-regulated startup companies without a track record. Historically, almost half of these investments lose all of the invested capital, while less than 10% have returns in excess of 10x the invested capital. Consider your investments carefully and do your own diligence to be more certain of your decisions.

  • Only accredited investors are legally allowed to invest in these instruments. In the US, an accredited investor must self-certify that they have earned at least $200,000 ($300,000 for a couple living together) for each of the last two years and expect to earn that much this year, or $1M in total assets not including their primary residence.

  • Keiretsu Forum does not make investment decisions, advise on investments, or take warrants or fees on investments. All investments are up to individual investors and are made directly with companies, so all your investment dollars go to the investments you choose. Please choose carefully - it's your money and your decision.

  • Online meetings are not recorded by our systems. Attendees are NOT permitted to record meetings and all information in meetings is considered private and confidential.

  • We advise members not to invest in any company for the first 6 months of membership unless you are an experienced angel investor. It takes time to get used to the process and to get a real sense of the risks, rewards, and time frames.

  • Members and guests are asked to fill out "gold sheet" forms online. These forms are the property of the presenters and provide them with valuable feedback on issues they may need to address and provide resources that may help them do better or progress faster. Members and the resources they bring are very valuable to presenters, so give them your attention and support their efforts to succeed.

  • Each K4Online attendee must RSVP in advance to get their access code for the meeting. Access instructions for online meeting attendance are provided for each attendee. Only use your own access code. Access codes change for each meeting.

  • Guests may attend no more than 2 meetings before joining the Pebble Beach chapter or joining as a K4Online member through their Chapter President. Members may invite guests to K4Online meetings by identifying them in advance so we can accommodate their visits and provide them with an access code for the meeting.
